  • Insulation is essential for maintaining a comfortable and energy-efficient home. By reducing heat loss in winter and keeping cool air in during summer, proper insulation helps stabilize indoor temperatures, enhances comfort, and minimizes energy usage. It also plays a key role in reducing the strain on heating and cooling systems, contributing to a more sustainable living environment.

    Attic Insulation:

    • Insulate at least 20% of the roof assembly.

    • Rebate depends on the level of insulation reached after the post-audit.

    • If less than or equal to R-12 is upgraded to R-50, the rebate is $1,500.

    • If greater than R-12 to R-25 is upgraded to R-50, the rebate is $1,200.

    • If greater than R-25 to R-35 is upgraded to R-50, the rebate is $900.

    Cathedral Ceiling/Flat Roof:

    • Insulate at least 20% of the roof assembly.

    • Maximum rebate of $780 for upgrades from R-12 to R-20 or R-25 to R-28.

    Exterior Wall Insulation:

    • Rebate based on percentage of completion, with a minimum of 20% insulated.

    • Rebate amounts:

      • R-7.5 to R-12: Up to $1,200.

      • Greater than R-12 to R-20: Up to $2,100.

      • Greater than R-20: Up to $3,600.

    • Pro-rated rebate available based on the percentage of wall area insulated, depending on the type of dwelling.

    Basement Wall Insulation:

    • Rebates of $900 for insulation from R-10 to R-22.

    • Rebates of $1,500 for insulation greater than R-22.

    Exterior Crawl Space Wall:

    • Rebates range from $600 (R-10 to R-22) to $1,200 (greater than R-22).

    Crawl Space Ceiling:

    • Must insulate 100% of the ceiling above crawl space, with rebates up to $1,200 for greater than R-24.

    Exposed Floor Insulation:

    • Minimum area required: 120 sqft.

    • Rebate: $300 for R-20 insulation.

    Foundation Header Insulation:

    • Rebates of $300 for insulating at least 80% of the foundation header to R-20.

    Basement Slab Insulation:

    • Rebates of $500 for insulating at least 50% of the basement slab to a minimum of R-3.5.

Choosing an ENERGY STAR-certified heat pump can also reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help improve indoor comfort by maintaining more consistent temperatures.

    Air Source Heat Pumps:

    • Must be ENERGY STAR certified.

    • Rebates from $250 to $1,000 based on system size.

    Cold Climate Heat Pumps:

    • Rebates from $500 to $2,000, depending on capacity.

    Ground Source Heat Pumps:

    • Rebates of $3,000 for installing a full system meeting Canada’s Energy Efficiency Regulations.

    • Rebates of $1,500 for replacing just the heat pump unit.

  • Upgrading your windows and doors to ENERGY STAR® certified models can significantly enhance your home's energy efficiency. These high-performance products reduce heat loss in the winter and minimize heat gain in the summer, helping to keep your home comfortable year-round. They also lower energy consumption, leading to reduced utility bills and a smaller carbon footprint. Additionally, energy-efficient windows and doors improve indoor air quality by reducing drafts and moisture, contributing to a healthier living environment.

    Rebates of $50 per rough opening for each replaced with ENERGY STAR certified models.

    Minimum of 3 windows or 1 door/skylight/sliding door must be replaced.

  • Air Sealing:

    • Achieve base target for a rebate of $120.

    • Achieve 10% or more above base target for a rebate of $180.

    Heat Pump Water Heaters:

    • Rebates of $500 for replacing a natural gas domestic water heater with an ENERGY STAR certified Domestic Heat Pump Water Heater.

Requirements:

✓Complete a minimum of 2 upgrades to qualify for rebates.

✓Home must be heated with Enbridge Gas either at the first or final assessment.

✓Must complete the final assessment within 120 days of the first assessment.

✓Eligible homes: detached, semi-detached, row homes, and mobile homes on a permanent foundation.
