About the GICB Program
The Green and Inclusive Community Buildings (GICB) Program offers funding to improve energy efficiency and inclusivity in community buildings across Canada. The program supports retrofitting existing buildings and constructing new, energy-efficient, and accessible spaces for underserved and Indigenous communities.
Application Dates:
Small to Medium Projects: August 1, 2024, to October 16, 2024, 15:00 ET.
Large Projects: September 4, 2024, to October 16, 2024, 15:00 ET.

Municipal/regional governments
Provincial/territorial governments
Public sector bodies
Not-for-profit organizations
Indigenous communities
Funding Available
The GICB Program provides two streams of funding:
Small to Medium Projects: Eligible projects with total eligible costs ranging from $100,000 to $3 million.
Large Projects: For projects that exceed $3 million in eligible costs, aimed at larger community buildings or multi-purpose facilities.
The funding provided through this program can cover up to 100% of eligible project costs for Indigenous applicants and other priority communities, while other applicants may receive up to 80% of project costs.
